Paola, Valter Mainetti and Dionysus
Valter and Paola Mainetti, founders of Aramaicos, boast a centuries-old entrepreneurial family tradition, with interests that have developed in both Europe and the United States. The main activity is focused on the field of real estate finance and the restoration of iconic buildings, with particular attention to the traditions and historical and artistic aspects of the buildings together with cultural peculiarities of the territory.
The history of the Mainetti Family is closely linked to the valorisation of cultural heritage and the protection of the environment, implemented through the Fondazione Sorgente Group, founded in 2007 by Valter and Paola Mainetti, intended also to safeguard the Family’s Collection, which began in the 1930s.
Protecting and spreading knowledge of the history, art and landscape value of the territories must be a fundamental objective and an added value for Companies that boast a long and compatible business activity.
In the collection belonging to the Fondazione Sorgente Group, we find preserved archaeological works of Greek and Roman sculpture in marble and bronze, including the sculpture of Athena Nike dating back to 430 BC, the Hellenistic bronze Mask of Papposilenus, and the portraits of Julio-Claudian princes: Marcello, Gaius and Lucio Cesari, Antonia Minor and Germanicus; the painting collection includes ancient artworks from the 15th to the 18th century, with Emilian Baroque painted pieces by Guercino and Guido Reni, as well as a collection of eighteenth-century Roman views, including works by Giovanni Paolo Panini and Andrea Locatelli.
The attention and interest for the Italian and French tradition - strongly felt by Paola Mainetti - gave rise to the idea of making the Les Deux Lévriers wine. Always an element of social cohesion and cultural interest, Wine is now at the centre of the new Family project, important result of human expression creativity, conceived with the usual characteristics of refinement and style. The project aims to increase the diffusion of Latin culture - also by way of wine - using the value and the art language.
